HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANT ANDREW HURLESS!

Happy Birthday Grant! Your mom and dad brought you home from the hospital when you were 3 days old on New Year's Day 1987 and we (Uncle Kevin, Aunt Sue, Patrick, Katie, and Matthew) raced out to Rockford to see you - much excitment! We brought a hot plate with us to boil water for for a pasta dinner - sauce in the micro because the stove at your house was not working - I also remember that it was unbelievably freezing that day but I don't think that had anything to do with the stove not working.

Merry Christmas from the Seuberts and Yoos

A Merry Christmas to all from the Seuberts and Yoos. We had a very yummy Christmas Eve meal of ham, potatoes and sides on our new dining table that seats 10!!! We also had a grand time opening our gifts after viewing A Muppet Christmas DVD! Fun was had by all......Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday and many good wishes for the coming year!

Mid Atlantic Winter Storm

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa This is definitely one of the biggest snow storms we have had here in Northern Virginia. It has been snowing for almost 24 hours straight with no signs of letting up yet. We have an accumulation of about 22-24 inches here in Annandale/Springfield area. We are home bound except for me having to get to work tomorrow....the plow arrived about 4:30pm today to plow out the court. It was very hard work to dig out the van so now I have a path to get out in the morning. One tragedy today, Anya dropped her cell phone in the snow and cannot find it!!! That sucker is gone til the thaw! More adventures in the snow later.

MILWAUKEE WEDDING

So this wedding was Anne Foy and Todd Huffman - Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Milwaukee, WI.

Lots of fun!

Ring Bearers included Paddy and Declan Foy - along with their cousins Roland and Grace as Flower Girl.

Special guests at the Reception: The Milwaukee Brewers Sausages! Obviously I still haven't figured out how to correctly sequence the photos...the butt shot: Roland, Grace and Paddy. Katie carried Declan - don't remember which Foy relation is holding Declan's hands as he stood, it appears, greeting guests as they arrived for the wedding ceremony.

Chewbacka and eventually Santa Claus...we saw them all at the Wheaton Santa Claus parade..

Thanksgiving 2009 Springfield Virginia

Another Thanksgiving Feast finished and what a feast it was!!!!

Voted the best tasting turkey ever made by, the now official turkey chef of the Seubert Clan, Dorsa H. Seubert!! It must have been the brining that was the trick to get the most tender, juicy turkey!! The sides were as tasty completing the feast of perfection. After dinner the cranberry-pear pie was the "cherry on top" as the saying goes. Fortunately we all have the ability to stuff ourselves beyond all reason.

We are now recovering slowly and enjoying the left overs as well. Hope you all had a memorable day as we did here in Virginia!! Now...on to the next holiday!!!

Thanksgiving Preparation

Preparations for the big day Thursday are in full swing. After weeks of searching through Better Homes and Gardens, Real Simple and the internet for more perfect recipes to fix for the feast, we are in the final stages of preparation. The Seuberts and Hassass' will gather at the home of Erik and Dorsa to share in the festivites. We've decided on an all day affair beginning with a scrumptious brunch and moving into the full course meal later in the day....hopefully we won't hurt ourselves with too much stuffing, but after weeks of planning it is hard not to over do. Hope you all have a wonderful day thursday and remember all the many things we have to be grateful for this year!!

The Grocery Store and Puppet Show Post was suppose to be on the Aunt Sue Blog....

TIME FLIES!! GROCERY STORES AND PUPPET SHOWS

So it seems like a fairly simple thing. Post something on the blog everyday - and include a picture - preferably one taken on the day of the posting. Hmmmm. Not so easy. Days fly by and ZIP! NOTHING. I've been to St.Paul - the weekend - me and two cute guys - not much sleep - taking them to the Target Superstore for just a few grocery items - milk, bananas, etc. was more than an adventure - how did I manage to do the same with 3 children? Obviously I was much, much younger, had more energy, and grocery carts were not the size of giant SUV's . Where exactly was I suppose to put the car seat with baby? It took up the entire cart! Paddy had to hold a tiny grocery basket to hold the few meager groceries - this was a challenge in itself. No pictures from the grocery store adventure but here's one of Audrey putting on a puppet show...."I am Frog and I am Duck"

Pumpkin Patching

On a beautiful fall day, sunday October 25th, we all went out to get pumpkins and apples....our first destination was a bust with millions of other Virginians out to enjoy the fall day..so we ended up in Vienna at Cox Farms pumpkin stand hunting the perfect pumpkin for our fall displays. All in all a fun filled morning!!

For those of you that haven't heard, Diana landed a sweet gig with the Pew Research Center in Washington DC. Her official title is, Graphic Designer / Assistant Web Editor.

She starts the third week of this month. So, she'll see you guys in VA before Halloween!

OK, well I can't find any pictures on this computer (it's Kevin's) and it runs in negative time - so you'll just have to close your eyes and imagine how Pat Foy II will look celebraing his birthday with his wonderful wife Katie and his two handsome sons....Happy Birthday Pat!

The Wedding Day finally arrived!!! It was a beautiful ceremony and an outstanding bash at the reception.  

We are so grateful to everyone who could share this wonderful day with us!!  I think fun was had by all.

Senior Activities

Last saturday Werner and I started our "hiking sport" and went on a 3.6 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail.  The destination was 1,260 feet elevation up to Marys Rock that has a 360 degree view of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountain Range.  It was very challenging but invigorating.  We look forward to more hiking on a regular basis.  Yah

As you all may know, Erik and I are getting a puppy! Our friend’s Sean and Brandy have a Boxer named Dolly and she recently had puppies. They are giving us a puppy as a wedding present. We are going to name her Roxy, and so far she is very sweet. When we pick her up she just cuddles and falls asleep in our hands. I know she is just a puppy and sleeping is what they do best, but still, I already love her. Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
